In many areas of Los Angeles, people live in poverty and struggle to keep food on the table. At The Rescue Train we know that how much money you make does not equal how much you love your pet. Our pet pantry was created to help low-income families, seniors living on fixed incomes and the homeless feed their companion animals.

Bowls of food provided to animals in need
The Rescue Train is able to feed hundreds of animals throughout the year because of donations from the community. Food from the pantry is distributed at The Rescue Train’s Shelter Intervention office at the East Valley animal shelter in Van Nuys, California, and at community outreach events.
Pet owners must have proof of low income to receive a monthly donation of pet food, and all pets must be spayed or neutered to receive assistance.
